This story had it all for me. The author has done a marvelous job of bringing the reader into life in the 1920s that goes far beyond the stereotypes often provided in books and movies.

Wow, what a unique start to a new series. Mercy is the family matriarch who knows she is dying. She is convinced this is her last Christmas. This story does a great job introducing us to the characters in the series. This is a very different book for this author. Different in a good way. I can't wait for the next book.
